NCAA news: Michigan Tech wins IceBreaker

NCAA news: As the 2017 college season gets underway, Michigan Tech pulled off an amazing upset to win the 2017 IceBreaker tournament trophy. The Huskies powered past Minnesota Duluth on UMD’s home ice to win the title.

Tech won 4-3.

Mark Auk and Raymond Brice each scored power play goals in the first period for Michigan Tech. Gavin Gould would add another power play tally in the second period, and Justin Misiak would score an even-strength game-winner midway through the second.

The three stars of the game (Justin Misiak, Patrick Munson and Jake Lucchini) were all Huskies:

Munson turned away 33 of the 36 shots he faced to get the win.
