Jaromir Jagr

Breaking NHL news: Jagr placed on IR

Breaking NHL news: The Calgary Flames have placed ageless wonder Jaromir Jagr on injured reserve. The 45-year-old forward suffered a lower-body injury Saturday against the Minnesota Wild.

Jagr signed a one-year deal with the Flames just weeks ago and has appeared in five games – registering two assists.

Injury has been a rarity for Jagr as he appeared in 161 of a possible 164 games over the past two seasons. Jagr was with the Florida Panthers during that stretch.

The Flames have recalled Mark Jankowski from the AHL to fill Jagr’s void. Jankowski has scored five goals for the Stockton Heat this season.
