NHL trade news: Duchene traded to Ottawa

NHL trade news: A blockbuster three-team trade has been finalized with the big name in the deal being center Matt Duchene. The Ottawa Senators acquire Duchene from the Colorado Avalanche. The Nashville Predators were also involved in the deal.

The 27-year-old had four goals and six assists this season for the Avalanche.

Kyle Turris goes from Ottawa to Nashville and agrees to a six-year extension with the Predators. The 27-year-old center had three goals and six assists for the Senators this season.

Both Duchene and Turris were third overall draft picks (Duchene in 2009 and Turris in 2007).

The Avalanche get back defenseman Samuel Girard, forward Vladislav Kamenev and a second-round pick from Nashville. From Ottawa, the Avs get center Shane Bowers, goalie Andrew Hammond and two draft picks (first and third round).
